CValdo is on the HDR team to provide professional Civil Engineering services for PS&E of the City of San Diego’s Savage Dam Mid-Level Outlet project. This project is being undertaken by the City to meet the State Division of Safety of Dams’ emergency reservoir drawdown requirements for Savage Dam. The project will construct a mid-level outlet consisting of a steel conduit through the existing 106-year-old cyclopean concrete dam with control valves at the upstream and downstream ends of the conduit. The project will also abandon an existing 16-inch diameter low-level outlet at the base of the dam. CValdo’s scope includes preparation of the civil engineering 60%, 100%, Issue for Bidding (IFB), and Issue for Construction (IFC) Plans, Specifications, and Estimates, as well as providing bid and construction phase support services.
